Donny & Marie Is Coming To Malaysia

Here's your chance to catch the legendary music family The Osmonds live in Malaysia. For the first-time ever, the seven siblings will reunite to perform for a one-night only concert at the Arena of Stars, Genting Highlands Resort.

The Osmonds are an American family pop group who achieved enormous worldwide success as teenage music idols in the 1970s. The group originally comprised brothers Alan Osmond, Wayne Osmond, Merrill Osmond, Jay Wesley Osmond and Donny Osmond, later joined by younger siblings Marie Osmond and Jimmy Osmond.

The Osmonds' career started with a big break at Disneyland, followed quickly by regular appearances on The Andy Williams Show in the early 1960s. Their most successful period was the early and middle 1970s, when they achieved a string of chart hits. In their 50 historic years in entertainment, The Osmonds, collectively and individually have recorded 142 albums, selling 100 million copies world wide with 51 Gold or Platinum recordings.

Donny and Jimmy, both achieved success as solo artists. Marie's signature hit was the country song "Paper Roses". Donny and Marie also performed as a duo, and hosted their own variety show, Donny & Marie, on ABC-TV from 1976 to 1979. They are not only just a vocal group, each brother also played an instrument and sometimes played and composed their own tracks.

Today, their sound is more country and western, with a bit of rock and adult contemporary thrown in. In August 2007, The Osmonds performed for their 50th Anniversary in Las Vegas, Nevada. On October 9, 2007 on The Paul O'Grady Show, Donny Osmond announced that they were getting back together and touring in May 2008, featuring all seven siblings -- Alan, Wayne, Merrill, Jay, Donny, Marie, and Jimmy.

Finally my once in a life time chance to see Donny in the flesh. Had loved him since the moment I heard Puppy Love on the radio way back in 1972 and I was a girl of 12 then. They (The Osmonds) were here in 1980 but I was not able to go to their concert as it was Orientation week in UM...i was sad but now I'm rejoicing as I will ascend Genting soon to see not only Donny but his performing siblings as well!!! Can't wait!
