Earthquake in Malaysia: 5.0 registered on Richter scale

I was preparing an article about The Malaysian Election outcome when I came across this article by CJCM ( kualalumpurishome.com )on March 10th, 2008 and this is a very good article .

Yes…. Malaysia was hit by the worst earthquake in history. I am not talking about the earth-moving and tsunami-generating earthquake our neighbouring country Indonesia is very familiar with though. But I am talking about the political earthquake that has rocked the entire nation on 8th March 2008, causing the BN Government machinaries and Pak Lah to finally wake up from their sleeps…. only to find out much damages the worst BN-man-made disaster had caused to the BN Government… the damages, however, could not be translated to any specific monetary value though.

The aftermath of the earthquake was mainly felt in the Peninsula Malaysia states but one northern state of Malaysia, Perlis, escaped the catastrophe almost unhurt. Other states in West Malaysia also felt minimum shakes from the tremor.

The earthquakes which had registered 5.0 on the Richter scale, nevertheless, had caused five Malaysian states to fall to the opposition parties where Kelantan, the epicenter of the worst among a series of nationwide earthquake, had retained power under the popular PAS Government with lot more seats returned to PAS. Four other states, also identified as the epicenters of equalling destructive forces, Kedah, Penang, Perak and Selangor had also crumbled under the intense pressure caused by strong tornadoes which had been blowing for about two weeks prior to the historic date of 8th March 2008.

With 5 states now under the opposition control (hence 5.0 on the Richter scale), the BN Government is now reduced to debris although it still managed to control the Parliment with just a simple majority…. totally unprecendented with an earthquake that had registered just 5.0 on the famous Richter scale. Can you imagine what will happen to the BN Government if an earthquake with the magnitude of 6.0, or 7.0 or even 8.0 has hit our beloved nation on Saturday?

Malaysiakini however reported that there had been no chaos at all among the ordinary people who had been well prepared to face the much anticipated national disaster .

Today is election day in my country and I hope things will be fine just like just like before or better then before . I hope there will be a new beginning for better for all Malaysians . Tonight until midnight the result will be out and I am ready to watch live .

The Edison Chen Sex Scandal

The Edison Chen photo scandal is a media scandal in early 2008 involving Hong Kong actor Edison Chen Kwoon-he and various actresses, including Gillian Chung Yan-tung, Bobo Chan Man-woon, Cecilia Cheung Pak-zhi, Mandy Chen, Cathy Leong, Candice Chan , Jolin Tsai and even Maggie Q .

Beginning in late January 2008, racy photographs depicting Chen and the aforementioned actresses engaged in sexual acts were circulated on the Internet.In November 2006, Chen allegedly purchased a pink PowerBook from eLite Multimedia, a computer shop in Hong Kong's Central district. According to the police, Chen's "Cotton-candy Mac" computer was sent in for repairs, and an estimated 1,300 intimate photographs of Chen and numerous female celebrities may have been accessed and copied by one or more of the shop's employees without consent. Chen's photographs were reportedly taken some time between 2003 and 2005.

KLCC In Da House

Recently I drove around my nearby neighbourhood and I came across this house where there a mini replica of KLCC building which captured my attention and I took a snap with my hand phone.
It looks quite funny to me but the sure thing is the owner of the house must be a great admirer of The world's tallest building from 1996 to 2004 here in Malaysia. Here's the picture I took below.

Researcher: Firefox Vulnerable To ID Spoofing

Firefox 2.0 has a vulnerability that can leave its users susceptible to an identity theft attack, according to Aviv Raff, a security researcher based in Israel.

Raff outlined a bug in Firefox that allows spoofing and enables an attacker “to conduct phishing attacks, by tricking the user to believe that the authentication dialog box is from a trusted website.” The versions affected include Firefox v2.0.0.11 and prior versions. Ryan Naraine got a private demo of Raff’s work and noted that this attack is easy to fall for.

Raff in his post outlines two possible attacks:

1. An attacker creates a web page with a link to a trusted website (e.g. Bank, PayPal, Webmail, etc.). When the victim clicks on the link, the trusted web page will be opened in a new window, and a script will be executed to redirect the new opened window to the attacker’s web server, which will then return the specially crafted basic authentication response.

2. An attacker embeds an image (pointing to the attacker’s web server, which will return the specially crafted basic authentication response) to:

• A mail which will be sent to a webmail user.
• RSS feed which will be consumed by a web RSS reader.
• A forum/blog/social network page.

As for the workaround, Raff suggests avoiding sites that require password authentication and give you a dialog that looks like this. Mozilla last issued a security patch for Firefox Nov. 27.

Why I Share General Knowledge

I started reading blogs seriously only about 2 month ago and after some readings I decided to come up with my own blog. The reason I choose Pc General Knowledge is because this is what I like and good at. Spending an average of 7 hours a day allows me to surf for all kind of informations . I share it back with all my readers and my friends too. What you read everyday is something that I came across on the day or sometimes ago . This blog is like my internet diary with topic range from latest software, YouTube videos, Internet business, my affliation partners to making money online .

Being able to meet a lot of people everyday in Kuala Lumpur basically when comes to computer knowledge most of them know how to use it and mainly on applications such as E-mail, Chatting, games ( a 7 years old boy can beat the hell out of you online, like my nephew) videos and some other applications. I believes those bloggers staying here in KL knows what I'm saying . Many only know the basic usage of a computer, like my sis, when we bought this computer home that I'm am still using today. 2005 Year In Review

What an amazing year. I started 2005 living out of a rented house and single. I end 2005 owning two houses and engaged to a wonderful woman who has inspired me and challenged me to go beyond what I thought was possible.

The turning point of 2005 happened in June when I was vacationing in Shanghai. I was at the top of the Oriental Pearl Tower and that’s when I asked Sarah to marry

While the are many is blogging around with informations, there are many who don't, but they use a pc and these group of people are the future Internet bloggers and online money makers. Video-Sharing Site YouTube A Hit With Spammers

If you find e-mail purportedly from video-sharing site YouTube in your mailbox, be extra cautious about it. It could be spam or something worse and this has been warned from several IT security companies. It was also claimed that spammers are exploiting YouTube to promote products online.

Spammers are actually using the invite-friends feature on the popular site to send out the unsolicited mail. The spam is embedded in the YouTube message, which allows it to get past spam filters operated by Internet service providers.

A careless PC user may then click on the link, and instead of getting a YouTube video, would be sent to an online dating site or a site plugging other services and products. There tactics are said to be always employed during holiday seasons for obvious reasons, and are used by spammers and worst, hackers out to spread trojan programs and other malicious software to personal computers.

These spammers will always use a variety of attacks that take advantage of undetected vulnerabilities. It is becoming a trend for spammers to use the names of reputable dotcom companies for their own ends, where it used to e-Bay , Amazon.com and now, YouTube.

E-mail users are advised to be more cautious when dealing with such e-mail messages, and if in doubt, it's safer to delete the message without clicking on the link.

Some people say that it is just an old myth to drink warm water to prevent heart attacks and I'd also like to point out that snopes.com declares this information as an urban myth and many other people agree that cold water is not related to cancer or heart attacks in any way. Changing the Recycle Bin's Size

The Windows Recycle Bin provides a safeguard against accidental deletions. But its size is limited, so unless you recover an accidentally-deleted file soon, you may be out of luck.
You can change the size of the recycle bin for any drive, however. Just right the recycle bin icon on the desktop. Make sure that the 'configure each drive independently' option is on.

First Malaysian in Space

On 10th October 2007 at 9.22pm (Malaysian time) Dr Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor created history in Malaysia by becoming the first Malaysian in space. It was a proud moment for the Malaysian people as the nation is also celebrating its 50th Merdeka (Independence) this year.

The Soyuz-FG rocket launcher blasted off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan at exactly 9.22pm (Malaysian time) carrying the Soyuz TMA-II spacecraft with Malaysian cosmonaut Dr Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor, NASA's commander Peggy Whitson and Russian Yuri Malechenko to the International Space Station (ISS).

Soyuz took about nine minutes to enter zero gravity and orbit the Earth for 2 days before docking with the International Space Station (ISS) on 12th October 2007.

Dr Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor will spend 8 days on the International Space Station (ISS) collaborating with other scientists on various space medicine experiments considered beneficial to the Malaysian population specifically and to the world in general.

CRASH ...BOOM...BANG

It's been almost 10 days since I post something on my blog.I was having intermittent hang problem and I brought my pc to a service center nearby my place . Things are ok but when I when back the next day .OH MY GOD , the service personnel have totally wiped out all my Saved Files. All 160 GIGABYTES of it. My 6.000++ songs , Countless pictures , all kind of installed softwares.Many of my works and collections is gone.I don't have much back up for my file.

You know how it feel to be in my situation, angry and sad. Bad service is done by the stupid and incapable asshole, mind my language,the asshole deserved treatment like the picture above from me, seriously. Anyway I'm back and to continue doing what I've Started here.
