Global online search engine company Google has announced that its Google Checkout payment system is allowing buyers to benefit from exclusive discounts and free shipping and earn frequent flyer miles, as they make their holiday season purchases. According to Google, Google Checkout users registering from now until 31 December to participate, will be able to earn frequent flyer miles for every dollar (USD) spent through Google Checkout, valid for US residents only. It confirmed that those airline reward programmes taking part include Alaska Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta Airlines, Midwest Airlines, Northwest Airlines, US Airways, and United Airlines. In addition, Google said users will be able to benefit from various holiday promotions from over 100 different Google Checkout retailers, with offers such as free shipping and discounts of USD10, USD20 or USD50 off certain purchases. The company also provides a Google Checkout Purchase History, allowing users to access information such as shipping status and store contact information, while iGoogle users can keep track of purchases from their iGoogle homepage. Google Checkout for Non-Profits enables users to donate to charitable organisations such as the Salvation Army, Red Cross, March of Dimes, One Laptop Per Child and the William J.
